Here at Alpha Fire we are always looking to expand our skill-set by recruiting new talent into our expanding team.

We would ideally be looking for mechanically and electrically trained Engineers to hit the ground running by having a background in the fire protection industry. We do appreciate this isn’t always applicable, however if you do see yourself looking to branch out into a new industry we will certainly consider all applicants with suitable background knowledge of mechanical or electrical engineering.


  • Predominately based in the south of the UK but being expected to travel
    We will expect employees to carry out the day to day servicing and repairs of Pumps/ Engines and motors in different applications.
    This role will include fault finding and repairs, with the ability to generate restorative and condition based reports digitally.

    A company vehicle will be provided along with a fuel card

    Subsidy on the use of a personal phone or a company phone will be provided for work use.

    Competitive rates of pay
    37.5 hours a week + overtime oppurtunities.

    Requirements ;
    A full UK driving License
    A background in mechanical / eletrical engineering.

  • Apprentices will always be considered at Alpha Fire.
    If accepted the apprentice can expect to undertake workshop activities such as the stripping and rebuilding of pumps and engines, which will give them the base knowledge of how the equipment we service and maintain operates at a component level.
    The apprentice can also expect to learn metalwork and fabrication whilst training and will be expected to attend college if not already attending to attain a field specific qualification.

    We expect the Apprentice to have a positive work attitude towards their time at work and at college. Also be able to work fluidly as part of a team and have the independence to work alone.

    Towards the end of their training the apprentice will be expected to shadow a full time engineer to learn skills such as ;

    - Servicing and maintaining Pumps, Engines, Motors and their related controllers.

    - Carrying out further training suitable to working on sites and the conditions and hazards that they may present.

    - Gaining a full understanding of how the systems they are maintaining operate and the risks involved when working on or near the equipment.

    - Liaising with customers and building rapport with our clients.
